Arsenal Flex Their Muscles in 2-0 Victory Over Manchester United

Arsenal closed the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool to seven points with a commanding 2-0 victory over Manchester United at the Emirates. Mikel Arteta’s side capitalized on Liverpool’s earlier 3-3 draw with Newcastle, delivering a clinical performance powered by their dominance in set pieces.

The Gunners thought they had an early lead when Gabriel Martinelli scored following a poor pass from Andre Onana, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Moments later, Thomas Partey came close from a corner, but his header sailed over.

United’s best chance of the first half came from a quick free-kick, with Diogo Dalot’s shot flashing just wide. Arsenal, however, upped the tempo after halftime, and their persistence paid off. Declan Rice’s corner found Jurrien Timber, who headed home his first Arsenal goal.

Another corner sealed the victory, as Bukayo Saka’s delivery allowed Thomas Partey to nod the ball across for William Saliba, who scored via a fortunate deflection. Arsenal could have added a third, but Mikel Merino missed a free header late on.

With a rock-solid defense and dominance in set pieces, Arsenal sent a clear message to their title rivals: they’re not backing down anytime soon.
