Joshua Kimmich Set to Extend Stay at Bayern Munich

After months of speculation, Joshua Kimmich is set to extend his contract with Bayern Munich, putting an end to any lingering transfer rumors. Despite reported interest from top European clubs, no concrete offers ever materialized, making Bayern the only team to present the midfielder with a new deal formally.

Negotiations between Kimmich and Bayern have reached the final stages, with reports indicating that the extension will run until at least 2028. Notably, Kimmich has been handling contract discussions without an agent, instead relying on the guidance of former Bayern technical director Marco Neppe. The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days.

This renewal follows Bayern’s recent trend of securing key players for the future. With Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies already extending their stays, Kimmich's extension further solidifies the club’s core under new manager Vincent Kompany. Next in line for renewals could be Dayot Upamecano, as Bayern looks to maintain stability within their squad.

Since joining the club from Stuttgart in 2015, Kimmich has been a vital presence in Bayern’s midfield, contributing significantly with his versatility, leadership, and playmaking abilities. This season alone, he has recorded one goal and nine assists in 35 appearances, reaffirming his importance to the team.

With his future at Bayern now all but confirmed, Kimmich will continue to be a pillar of the squad as they chase more domestic and European success in the coming seasons.
